3 Latin Alums Offer Challenges for NDCL Giving Day, November 19th

These Latin alums are offering matching gift challenges for NDCL's Giving Day on November 19th. James Zaletel '64 and wife Bette Anne are offering a $50,000 Challenge, matching every gift of $5,000 or more. Bill Connelly '61 is offering a $25,000 Challenge Grant, matching all Cathedral Latin alumni gifts dollar for dollar. Dominic Tomaro '68 is challenging his classmates to match his $1,000 gift to NDCL for Giving Day on November 19th. ACCEPT a CHALLENGE

CLAA Announces New Officers

June 15, 2026

The Cathedral Latin Alumni Association (CLAA) has announced the election of its officers for the next two-year period. At its recent Annual Meeting, the CLAA Board of Trustees unanimously approved the following slate of officers:

• President – Leo Hyland '77
• Vice President – Richard Welsh '72
• Secretary – Joseph Spagnuolo '61
• Treasurer – Frank James Hlad '68

Founded in 1950, the CLAA has been supporting Catholic education at Cathedral Latin School (closed in 1979) and Notre-Dame Cathedral Latin School (NDCL) for over a combined 75 years. The Alumni Association has over 3,000 members nationwide (and beyond), and conducts three annual events.
